Why has Harbaugh-mania subsided in Year 3 at Michigan?

In the past, Jim Harbaugh couldn't make a move without it being national news. It has been strangely quiet at Michigan this season and there are a variety of reasons for the lack of drama.

Urban Meyer said today in his press conference that the rivalry game against Michigan is not a "one week deal." Rather that he and his coaches have been preparing for this game all year. "We're not just starting our film study for the week," Meyer said. "That's been going on for a long time." When asked a similar question, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh stated that he and his staff have done much of the same because of the magnitude that this rivalry brings.

Michigan's quarterback for its game against Ohio State this weekend remains a question mark. Brandon Peters is going through concussion protocol and will be evaluated again Monday. Jim Harbaugh says he's not sure if Wilton Speight will be cleared for contact in practice this week.

An illustrated guide to rivalry week

Some games, such as Alabama-Auburn, have major playoff implications. Others, such as Ole Miss-Mississippi State, are just about good, old-fashioned hatred. Either way, these are the battles this weekend that make college football great.

No. 5 Badgers dispatch Michigan, reach 11-0

Wisconsin scored two TDs in the third quarter to break open a tight game, and the No. 5 Badgers improved to 11-0 for the first time with a 24-10 win over No. 19 Michigan.

Jim Harbaugh says "he really thought" Donovan Peoples-Jones' catch in the second quarter should have been a touchdown, but ultimately "they made more plays, give Wisconsin credit."

Michigan QB Peters tested for head injury

After being hit hard by Wisconsin linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel in the third quarter, Michigan quarterback Brandon Peters left Saturday's game on a medical cart. Peters was being tested for a head injury at a hospital after the Wolverines' 24-10 loss.

The perpetually plucky Alex Hornibrook completes two passes for 75 yards on Wisconsin's touchdown drive. Otherwise, he's 6 of 13 for 36 yards with an interception.

Jim Harbaugh told placekicker Quinn Nordin last week that he needed to make his next kick after falling into a bit of a slump. Nordin was fired up after coming through in a big spot with a 39-yarder here in Madison.

A missed opportunity for Michigan to take its first lead after getting great field position. Brandon Peters showed good mobility but wasn't as sharp on his passes. Michigan once again will lean on a defense that has yet to allow 100 total yards.

Wisconsin needs to find a way to get star tailback Jonathan Taylor more involved in the second half. Aside from one good series late in the second quarter, Michigan hasn't given the freshman much breathing room.
