Hall of Fame coach Ara Parseghian returned home Wednesday after being treated with intravenous antibiotics at a South Bend facility for an infection in his surgically repaired hip. He is still receiving 24-hour care.
Ara Parseghian, who led Notre Dame to national titles in 1966 and 1973, is receiving treatment for a hip infection at a care facility in South Bend, Indiana.

Undrafted rookie guard Collin Buchanan from Miami (Ohio) initially signed with the Saints but opted to leave the team before the start of rookie minicamp. Sean Payton said they spent some time talking in his office Friday. "He felt pretty confident he didn't want to play anymore," Payton said. "So that happens from time to time. And I told him this, and it's the truth really, it's not for everyone. He was just one of those players that felt like he was ready to get on with (what's) next."
MAC still searching for first bowl win

Mississippi State beat Miami-Ohio 17-16 as bowl season resumes after taking a day off. The ViewFromVegas is MSU failed to cover as a 14.5-point favorite and the game stayed under the total of 58 as our major betting trends continued. Favorites have 11 of the 15 bowls so far, but underdogs are 11-4 ATS (73.3 percent) as there have been 7 games with the favorite winning but not covering. Unders also improved to 10-5 (66.7 percent).
