Every top 25 team's best reason for optimism next season

Even with the College Football Playoff selection committee's top 25 still battling for semifinal and New Year's Six bowl positions, it's never too early to look ahead to next season.

Georgia on Monday announced future home-and-home series with both Texas and Clemson. The Bulldogs and Longhorns will play in 2028 (at Texas) and in 2029 (at Georgia). Georgia and Clemson will play in 2029 (at Clemson) and in 2030 (at Georgia). The teams in August announced they will play in the 2024 Chick-fil-A Kickoff in Atlanta.

Assume Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma and Georgia all win out, Alabama finishes 12-1 and Notre Dame finishes 11-1. In that scenario, Playoff Predictor makes Clemson and Georgia virtual locks and considers Michigan very likely to get in. The decision for the last spot would be almost a toss-up between Oklahoma and Alabama, but our model thinks the committee is more likely to select the Sooners, by a hair. Notre Dame would be the least likely of the six to get in.
