Former Miami offensive tackle Sunny Odogwu announced Friday he will take advantage of the graduate transfer rule and play at UCLA in his final season of eligibility. His arrival will be a welcomed addition for the Bruins, who were in need of additional players to compete to strengthen the offensive line. With Kolton Miller at left tackle, Odogwu, who was listed at 6-foot-8, 325 pounds, should compete for the starting job at right tackle. He started 14 games in three seasons for Miami, including the first four last season prior to a season-ending ankle injury.

With Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen at USC and UCLA respectively, it will be an interesting season in Los Angeles to watch quarterback play. Beyond that, the future is bright with Matt Corral (USC, left) and Dorian Thompson-Robinson (UCLA, right) arriving next season. Both have been impressive at this weekend's Elite 11 finals.

All eyes were on UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen this spring as he returned following shoulder surgery. He had his ups and downs, but feels comfortable physically and with the direction of the offense under new coordinator Jedd Fisch. "He's been around the block with the NFL and college and knows exactly what he wants and that's what I'm trying to do for him," Rosen said.

One of the interesting things that OT Conor McDermott (6-foot-8 1/8) said Saturday is that when he arrived at UCLA he weighed between 235 and 240 pounds. He relayed that he is currently at 315 pounds after playing last season around 300-305 pounds. As for how he gained weight, he called it a "slow process." Growing up, McDermott was named Mr. Basketball in Tennessee. "I definitely thought that was my future," he said on a conference call. "I changed to football my senior year of high school and never looked back. It's been a great experience."
