And then there were eight

With Clemson, Washington, Washington State and Navy all going down Saturday, that leaves just eight teams in FBS that remain unbeaten.

Given its loss to Arizona State last night and a relatively weak schedule, Washington tumbled to 21st in Strength of Record, which measures accomplishment. Clemson dropped to sixth after its loss to Syracuse, allowing Georgia to take over the No. 1 spot in these rankings.

Good weekend for TCU. Not only did the Horned Frogs score a conference road win at Kansas State on Saturday, but losses by two top-five teams this weekend (Clemson, Washington) mean they'll likely move into the top four of the next Associated Press Top 25.

No. 6 TCU finishes off Kansas State, 26-6 in Manhattan. Quality road win for the Horned Frogs who should be in really good position after this week. Clemson's loss on Friday night likely means TCU will move up a spot. The first College Football Playoff rankings release on Oct. 31.

TCU wasted no time getting back in the end zone with a 1-yard Sewo Olonilua touchdown run, to cap an eight-play, 65-yard drive. No. 6 TCU in complete control, 26-6 over Kansas State in the fourth quarter. Looks like the Horned Frogs will cruise to victory today.

With 12:49 remaining in the fourth quarter and TCU leading Kansas State 20-6, we are headed to another lightning delay. Rain is also coming down at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

One key first half point swing: An Alex Delton-to-Byron Pringle touchdown pass in the second quarter was nullified by an offensive pass interference penalty. The penalty, plus a sack and fumble on the next play, meant Kansas State came up empty-handed on the drive. TCU earned a field goal on the ensuing drive, which gave them a 13-0 lead at that point.

Sam Khan Jr. ESPN Staff Writer

Kansas State is averaging only 2.4 yards per play and is 0-for-8 on third downs but only trails No. 6 TCU 13-3 at halftime. The Horned Frogs have a 184-71 total offense advantage, but have been unable to translate it into a larger lead.

Sam Khan Jr. ESPN Staff Writer

TCU is winning the battle on both lines of scrimmage so far vs. Kansas State through a quarter of play. The Horned Frogs have been strong defensively, allowing only two first downs and 25 first-quarter yards, while the offensive line has opened holes for the running backs and protected Kenny Hill well.
