Illinois athletic department lost $6.2M in 2016

Illinois athletic director Josh Whitman says his department was operating at about a $6.2 million deficit in 2016, with revenue and spending figures ranking in the bottom half of the Big Ten.

First unofficial 40 time for Illinois linebacker Hardy Nickerson, Jr., son of former Buccaneers great, Hardy Nickerson: 4.79. Spoke to him at the East-West Shrine Game and he has met with the Bucs. Told me the best piece of advice his dad gave him during this process was, "Control what you can and give it your all." Also told me that playing for his dad last year at Illinois "meant the world."

Friday Night Lovie: Illinois and USF have moved up their game one day to Friday, Sept. 15, on ESPN. The Illini now have two Friday night games, as they'll also host Nebraska on Sept. 29 as part of the new Big Ten Friday night package.
