Former NFL TE Henry dies of leukemia at 24

Former NFL tight end Mitchell Henry died Friday of complications from acute myeloid leukemia. He was 24.

I'm told that former WKU center Max Halpin has been invited to Saints rookie camp on a tryout. He was in Bucs rookie camp last week. He started 38 games for the Hilltoppers. According to PFF, he surrendered nine pressures in 2016 and had the eighth-best run block success percentage (91.4) in the draft.

I'm told that WKU center Max Halpin has been invited to Bucs rookie camp on a tryout. A former walk-on, he started 38 games for the Hilltoppers. One of the most valuable pieces to WKU's offensive line, he was responsible for making all the line calls, run blocking calls and pass blocking calls.

Western Michigan was the only D-1 offer for Corey Davis. Western Kentucky was the only D-1 offer for Taywan Taylor. Titans have a couple new self-made receivers on the roster and raring to catch passes from Marcus Mariota.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

New Titans receiver Taywan Taylor made a lot of big plays at Western Kentucky. Per PFF, he was first in the country in 2016 with 948 deep passing yards, second with 20 catches of 20 yards or more and 21st in deep catch percentage at .465. The Titans had 53 pass plays of 20 yards or more last year and clearly want to grow in that area.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

The Titans have added playmakers at the wide receiver position in this draft with Corey Davis and Taywan Taylor. More speed and explosive play ability down the field for QB Marcus Mariota.

Titans add Taywan Taylor to receiving corps

Marcus Mariota has another target. The Western Kentucky wideout, who caught 98 passes for 1,730 yards last season, became the second receiver taken by Tennessee, which picked Corey Davis in the first round.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

The Titans traded up with New England to select Taywan Taylor, the receiver out of Western Kentucky. They took Corey Davis No. 5 overall and use another pick to build up a group of weapons for Marcus Mariota. He's smaller at 5-foot-11, 203-pounds, but like Davis got a lot of yards after the catch during a very productive college career.

Chargers nab Forrest Lamp

Despite playing left tackle at Western Kentucky, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. says Lamp's shorter arms make him better suited to play guard or center in the NFL.

Todd McShay ESPN Senior Writer

The Chargers just got one of the biggest steals of the draft in guard Forrest Lamp. We had him ranked as the No. 16 overall player and the No. 1 offensive lineman, and he fell to the 38th pick. He dominated against Alabama this season. Fills a big need for the Chargers.

Jeff Legwold ESPN Senior Writer

The phrase "best player available" never rings more true than the first five picks of the second day. Teams had all night to consider some first-round grades they had on players that fell out of first day. My best player available? Western Kentucky's Forrest Lamp -- should have been picked about 15 picks ago.

Interesting follow-up to center Max Halpin working out for the Rams, Ravens and Falcons -- a source tells me that his WKU teammate and best friend, guard Forrest Lamp, will be working out with him for all three of those workouts. Two-for-one deal? Why not!

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Source tells me that former Western Kentucky center Max Halpin has upcoming private workouts scheduled with the Rams, Ravens and Falcons. He posted 35 reps on the bench at WKU's pro day, which would have been tops among offensive linemen at the NFL combine this year.
