Klopp: Liverpool belong in UCL quarterfinals (0:53)

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes the Reds are capable of reaching Champions League semi-finals after a 5-0 aggregate win over Porto in the last-16. (0:53)

Ian Rush told Sport Bild that Mohamed Salah can become a Liverpool legend and that the Egypt international will be at the club for many years.

Salah has scored 32 goals in 39 matches in all competitions since joining Liverpool from Roma last summer and within only a matter of months has become a fan favourite with his own song at Anfield.

And Rush, Liverpool's all-time leading goalscorer, believes Salah could one day be named alongside other Liverpool greats.

"To become a Liverpool legend, you must play here for several years," Rush said. "Mohamed Salah has done a fantastic job so far. The fans love him. Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez were outstanding players too. They did not become legends because they left the club after a relatively short period.

"It's different with Mo Salah. I don't think that he will only be at Liverpool for a short spell. If he fulfills his contract, he will become a legend."

Liverpool cruised into the Champions League quarterfinals with a 5-0 aggregate win over Porto on Tuesday.

Rush praised manager Jurgen Klopp, saying that he not only "transports a lot of positive energy to the fans" like he had done at Borussia Dortmund, but also "brought a fantastic team spirit to Anfield."
