Real Madrid have left Gareth Bale on the bench for their crucial Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Isco was also left on the bench for the round-of-16 clash at the Parc des Princes, alongside Toni Kroos and Modric, both of whom are recently recovered from injuries.

Bale was named Madrid's player of the month in January, but his omission means he will not start either leg against PSG.

The Welshman came on as a substitute in the 68th minute in Real Madrid's 3-1 win in the first leg at the Bernabeu on Feb. 14, and he'll begin on the bench again after Zinedine Zidane name Marco Asensio to the midfield instead.

Lucas Vazquez and Mateo Kovacic also come into the Madrid midfield.

For PSG, Angel Di Maria will line up on the right in the spot normally occupied by injured star Neymar, while Kylian Mbappe is on the left of striker Edinson Cavani.

Layvin Kurzawa was omitted from the matchday squad entirely as Unai Emery again opted to start Yuri Berchiche at left-back.
