The New England Revolution have acquired midfielder Luis Alberto Caicedo on a one-year loan from Colombian second-division side Cortulua.

The Revs used Targeted Allocation Money to nab the 21-year-old Caicedo and will hold rights for a permanent transfer option for 2019.

The deal is pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.

"We are pleased to add a young player in Luis who displays significant potential at the midfield position," Revs GM Mike Burns said in a club statement.

"We believe Luis will help strengthen our central midfield and add to the competition at the position."
