Home favourite Ashleigh Buhai holds a one-stroke lead at the Investec South African Women's Open after an opening-round 69 in Cape Town.
Buhai, who has not won on the Ladies European tour since the Portugal Open in 2011, got off to a slow start with a bogey on the second hole.
But she came through to make four birdies and move to three-under par, one ahead of Namibia's Bonita Bredenhann, Spaniard Silvia Banon and Karolin Lampert of Germany.
Banon hit a flawless 70 in her first round, while Bredenhann and Lampert mixed four gains with two dropped shots at Westlake Golf Club.
England's Kiran Matharu sits in fifth after a one-under par 71, Florentyna Parker is tied for sixth at level-par and Annabel Dimmock is one shot further adrift.
