Trae Young after the loss to Rhode Island.

Rhode Island takes down Oklahoma in overtime thanks to clutch shooting from Fatts Russell and E.C. Matthews. Was this the final time we saw Trae Young in an Oklahoma uniform?

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

Quite a way to start the tournament.

So the tournament committee was hell bent on getting Trae Young into the field, and that lasted about 2 and a half hours....

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

You can fault Oklahoma for not giving it to Trae Young in two of those late possessions in regulation. But the Sooners played excellent defense against Rhode Island in the final minute. A lot of ball screen action that worked early failed for the Rams down the stretch. A couple of late misses at the rim for Rhode Island. But Oklahoma's pressure was a factor.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

Trae Young's 3-point bucket with just over two minutes left increased Oklahoma's chance to win by over 19 percentage points.

Trae Young lays hits one from way back to put the Sooners back on top 67-66

Tony Jones @tribjazz

Trae Young really needs to show some toughness here...because Rhode Island is currently taking his lunch money

John Gasaway ESPN Insider

Trae Young is struggling to find the range in the second half against Rhode Island. The freshman is 0-of-3 from beyond the arc and 0-of-4 overall since the break, as URI's made its run and taken the lead.
