Kentucky cruises past Canisius (0:50)

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

If you eliminate Isaiah Briscoe's 5-for-6 tally, Kentucky's starters opened the game against Canisius with a 3-for-17 stretch. Welcome to Division I basketball for these young guys. Malik Monk and Bam Adebayo both started 0-for-5.

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

Kentucky will recover from its rocky start against Canisius, which did a great job of pushing the tempo and being active on the glass. Shocked the Wildcats. But if Kentucky starts like this against Michigan State at the Champions Classic, they'll face a greater early deficit. Not enough energy early.

A.J. English had 20 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds, and Isaiah Williams added 18 as the second-seeded Gaels knocked off the Golden Griffins 73-55 to advance to the semifinals. Box score
