Henry Ellenson is expected to sign a 10-day deal with the Knicks this week, per league sources. The Knicks will fill one of their two open roster spots with Ellenson, a 2016 first round pick. Ellenson was waived by Detroit to make room for Wayne Ellington on the roster earlier this month. Ellenson had fallen out of the Pistons' rotation this season and will be a free agent this summer. His agreement with New York was first reported by The Athletic. The 22-year-old forward fits Knicks GM Scott Perry's approach of acquiring former first-round picks who didn't find a fit with their original team.

The Knicks refute the claim that they didn't scout Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of the 2013 NBA Draft. They say that their European scouts, including Kevin Wilson, scouted Antetokounmpo multiple times. Antetokounmpo's agent, Giorgos Panou, reveals in the ‘Finding Giannis' documentary that the Knicks were the one team that didn't send a scout or team staffer to see Antetokounmpo in Greece before the 2013 NBA Draft. The Knicks selected Tim Hardaway Jr. with the 24th pick in that draft.
