Spurs coach Gregg Popovich on what makes Dwyane Wade iconic: “He certainly is an iconic an iconic figure as far as NBA basketball goes. And it's not just because of the way he played. He played hard. He played to win. He had a ferocious attitude on the court. But it was matched with a wonderful smile and a great understanding of the world and community off the court. I think that's what made him so special; a coveted teammate, somebody that everybody enjoyed playing with, a guy that cared about more than just basketball. That's what makes him iconic in my mind.”

LaMarcus Aldridge said he already texted Damian Lillard to congratulate him on moving past him into No. 2 on the Blazers' all-time scoring list: “Bittersweet. But great guy. He's worked hard and he's earned it. So I'm happy for him. I'm competitive, so it hurts. But I'm happy for him. He's averaging what, 27 over the last I don't know how many years. I think my highest [scoring average] there was 23. So that's a big difference. But he's a natural scorer, so I'm not surprised at all.”
