Jackson under contract for 2010

Despite unhappiness about getting a one-year tender instead of a long-term deal, Cleveland Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson signed his tender Monday and is now under contract for the 2010 season.

"D'Qwell was ready to get on with the season and let his play dictate his value,'' agent Brian Mackler told the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer. "D'Qwell is healthy and looking forward to having a Pro Bowl-caliber season. He feels the defense has a chance to be really good this season and he's excited to get back on the field.''

Jackson was the first of several signings in Cleveland before Monday's midnight deadline.

A team spokesman said that, in addition to Jackson, running back Jerome Harrison, fullback Lawrence Vickers, safety Abram Elam and linebacker Matt Roth also signed their tenders.
