The Chargers were without their No. 1 receiver and their top two running backs — not to mention all the injuries they had already suffered on defense — and they went on the road, on a short week, to beat a team many consider the best in their conference. They're as legit a Super Bowl contender as that other LA team.

Wade Phillips, on preparing for Carson Wentz and Nick Foles: "We're getting ready for Wentz. If he doesn't play, it doesn't change their offense a whole lot. Their next quarterback was the MVP of the Super Bowl, so it's not a big drop off for them either. Their plays are basically the same."

Here's a look at the cleats that Todd Gurley will wear Sunday against the Eagles for "My Cause, My Cleats." Gurley's cleats are in support of Pizza Hut's "Book it" program, which motivates kids to read. "Just partnering up with Pizza Hut and I have a close buddy Malcolm Mitchell who does book literacy," Gurley said. "He wrote a children's book, so just to support his cause and support the Book It! Foundation."

The Rams have signed rookie OL Jamil Demby off the Lions' practice squad, the Rams announced. The Rams selected Demby in the 6th round from Maine, but cut him in Sept. to make room on the active roster for Aaron Donald. The Rams now have 8 linemen on their active roster, including 3 rookie reserves.

The latest playoff picture for the NFC West Champion Rams: They can secure a first-round bye on Sunday with a win over the Eagles, plus a Bears loss to the Packers. And in the hunt for NFC home-field advantage, they're tied with the Saints for 1st place in the NFC, but the Saints have the head-to-head tie breaker over the Rams because of their Week 9 victory. So Rams need to continue to win, and hope that the Saints lose in order to control home field.

McVay: "It's a Humbling League."

J.B. Long sitdown with Rams head coach Sean McVay as they discuss the Sunday night loss to the Chicago Bears. Coach McVay gives credit to the Bears and discusses what he learned from the loss. They also discuss the play of pass rusher Dante Fowler and gear up for the defending Super Bowl Champs Eagles this weekend.

The Rams have placed RB Malcolm Brown and CB Dominique Hatfield on the injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday. Rookie OLB Trevon Young, a sixth-round pick from Louisville, was promoted to the active roster. Brown underwent a procedure to reset his clavicle after suffering an injury in Week 13 against the Lions. Hatfield, a mainstay on special teams, will undergo surgery to repair an ankle injury suffered Sunday in a loss against the Bears.

It all comes full circle: The Rams entered Sunday averaging 34.9 points per game through 12 games. The last team averaging 34.0-plus points per game through at least 10 games in a season, to score fewer than 10 points in a game: the ST. LOUIS Rams -- 3 points on Dec. 3, 2000 at the Panthers (after averaging 36.3 in their prior 12 games), per the Elias Sports Bureau.
