Indian boxer Sonia Lather beat local favourite Aizhan Khojabekova 3-0 in the semifinal of the Women's World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan on Thursday.
Lather will now take on Italy's Alessia Mesiano in the final of the 57kg featherweight category. Mesiano beat Bulgaria's Denitsa Eliseeva by a similar margin in the other semifinal.
In the quarterfinals, Lather had scored a 3-0 win over Poland's Aneta Rygielska.
Lather, 24, had won the silver in the 2012 Asian Championships.
Indian boxers have consistently done well in the Women's World Championships, starting with Mary Kom's silver in the inaugural edition in Scranton, USA in 2001.
The 2006 championships in Delhi were the most successful for India with the boxers winning eight medals: four golds, one silver and three bronze.
In the 2014 event, India won two silvers -- Sarjubala Devi (45-48kg light flyweight) and Saweety Bora (81kg heavyweight).
