Ramkumar Ramanathan beat France's Gleb Sakharov (world No. 156) to move into the final round of qualifying for the Australian Open on Saturday.
World No. 139 Ramkumar won 6-4, 7-6 (12-10) in one hour and 49 minutes. The Indian hit 11 aces, nine more than Sakharov.
He will now meet the winner of the match between Vasek Pospisil (Canada) and Stefano Napolitano (Italy) for entry into the main draw of the Grand Slam.
On Friday, India's Yuki Bhambri reached the final round of qualifying after beating Spain's Carlos Taberner. Bhambri, who is world No. 122, won 6-0, 6-2.
He will next meet Canada's Peter Polansky, who is ranked No. 140.
