Napoli seal Callejon signing

Napoli have completed the signing of Jose Callejon from Real Madrid on a four-year contract.

Callejon, who had graduated through the Madrid youth ranks, returned to the Bernabeu in 2011 after a three-year spell with Espanyol, but it appears he was not part of new coach Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

A statement on the Italian club’s official website read: “SSC Napoli officializes the signing of 26 year-old striker José Maria Callejon from Real Madrid. Callejon signed a four-year contract.”

The Spanish side also confirmed the deal in a statement on their official website: “Real Madrid announces that José Callejón has been transferred to Napoli Football Club.”

Napoli are reported to have paid around €10 million for Callejon, who follows Belgian winger Dries Mertens in joining Rafa Benitez’s squad.
