Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal keen on Premier League before retiring

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has said that he would like to experience the Premier League before retiring.

Madrid youth product Carvajal, 26, has spent his entire career -- bar the 2012-13 season on loan at Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen -- with the Spanish side, winning 14 senior trophies, including four Champions League titles.

"I do think about it," Carvajal responded when asked by Libero magazine whether he has thought about playing abroad before he hangs up his boots. "And I am clear that I want to play in the Premier League.

"It is an experience that I really want to have. I don't want to be left wondering what it would be like. But, on the other hand, I would like to spend my whole career here, which would be something very nice too.

"It is true that [with] Qatar, China... we should not trick ourselves, it is about money. I would really like to experience the Premier League, but we will see."

Carvajal is under contract at the Bernabeu until 2022, as part of club president Florentino Perez's policy of keeping regular first-team players tied down long term.

The Spain international is currently sidelined with a calf injury picked up in last Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at CSKA Moscow, and is thought unlikely to return in time for the La Liga Clasico at Barcelona on Oct. 28.
