Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: Roman Abramovich is a demanding employer

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has said club owner Roman Abramovich is "very demanding" but "a great football enthusiast."

Conte, who was named as Jose Mourinho's permanent successor in April, took up his role at Stamford Bridge in July and has signed a three-year contract.

The Italian last month dismissed suggestions his position was precarious after a dip in form and has since seen his team win four straight Premier League games.

The Blues are one point behind leaders Manchester City, having beaten Manchester United 4-0 last month on the day before Abramovich's birthday.

And Conte told Sky Italia: "He's a very demanding employer but a great football enthusiast.

"Mr Abramovich is an employer and owner who has great passion. He wants to know and understand your ideas.

"He went to Austria to follow our training sessions. He comes to Cobham to spend time with us and watch the videos I show to my players, because he really wants to understand. I think that this is wonderful."

Chelsea play Everton in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they look to make it five wins in succession.
