Thiago Santos faces Glover Teixeira in a meeting of top light heavyweights in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday at the company's Apex facility in Las Vegas. The main card will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+, starting at 10 p.m. ET, and the prelims will be on ESPN+ at 7:30 p.m.
Santos (21-7) is coming off a loss to then-champion Jon Jones in July 2019. The Brazilian injured his knee in that bout, underwent surgery and has not competed since.
Teixeira (31-7) has won four fights in a row. He also once challenged Jones for the belt, losing a decision in 2014.
Saturday's main card opens with a matchup of top-10 strawweights. Claudia Gadelha, No. 5 in the ESPN rankings at 115 pounds, has won her past two bouts. She takes on Yan Xiaonan, who is ranked eighth and unbeaten in her past 11 fights, including a 5-0 run in the UFC.
The co-main event is a meeting of former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser. Arlovski, 41, has won two of his past three fights. Boser, 29, has only one loss in his past six bouts, going back to early last year.
