With the Philadelphia 76ers facing the Los Angeles Lakers one night after the one-year anniversary of the death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, Sixers star Joel Embiid paid tribute to them with a special pair of sneakers.

The shoes included images of Bryant and his daughter on one side, and Nos. 24, 8 and 2 on the other side, representing their jersey numbers.

Embiid has credited Bryant with helping spark his interest in playing basketball.

"Kobe meant something different to me than anybody else," Embiid said last January in his first game following Bryant's death. "It was tough, but I know, just looking at his career and what he was about, that Mamba mentality. It was about outworking your opponent, outworking everybody else. ... That's what he was about. It was tough, but that's how you honor him."

Stephen Curry and Damion Lee also had Bryant-inspired shoes prepared for the Warriors' game against the Timberwolves.
