An FIR has been lodged by Narsingh Yadav in Sonepat against the boy, reportedly a cadet wrestler from Delhi, for 'spiking' his food which resulted in the positive dope test. Narsingh filed a written complaint at the Rai police station. It is learnt that the Prime Minister's office has intervened in the matter, which has quickened the process.
With the needle of suspicion falling on Sushil Kumar's camp for orchestrating the idea, the two-time Olympic medallist's coach Satpal Singh rubbished the allegations, claiming that they have nothing to do with the matter. The Sushil camp is expected to hold a press briefing later on Wednesday.
Bizzarely enough, a day before the NADA hearing on Narsingh's appeal, Parveen Rana was named as his replacement at the Rio Olympics late on Tuesday. "We are yet to touch base with the WFI with regard to Narsingh's replacement being announced before the hearing," said Mustafa Ghouse, CEO of JSW Sport, who have been supporting Narsingh, "We will do so shortly." Wednesday's NADA hearing would be Narsingh's last chance to salvage his Rio hopes.
