Fulham came out quickly in the second 45 and deserved to get a goal, but there was no luck going their way. That was until a corner from Iwobi was straight to Suzuki, and the goalkeeper had a calamitous moment. He tried to parry the ball down to then hold onto it, but in doing so he saw it drop down and go just over the goal line! Villa went closest late on, but Torres failed to find the target with his two headed chances. The visitors accumulated more expected goals, accumulating 2.21 xG from their 14 shots (Villa with 1.71 xG). The hosts miss the chance to climb into the top seven, as they sit in ninth place. Fulham get another point on the board and find themselves in 15th place. Next up for Villa is a trip to Manchester to face out-of-form Manchester United, whilst Fulham host Newcastle.
