Commentary
Napoli pick up their first points of the Champions League season, as they defeat Bodo/Glimt 4-3 in a great game of football. The hosts took the lead in the opening minute, as Politano sweetly struck a volley past Haikin, with the pace leaving the keeper with no chance of making a save. Bodo found an equaliser with their first shot of the night, as Hauge found the bottom corner with a lovely curling effort in the 27th minute. McTominay gave Napoli a lead to go into the break with, after a nice one-two with De Bruyne ended with the Scot finding the goal from inside the box, with massive help from Gundersen deflection. Bodo were back level in the 62nd minute through Helmersen. Fet, who assisted the first, found a straight pass to Helmersen, who took one touch to set it onto his left, before a strikers finish into the bottom-right corner. Napoli then took the lead for a third and final time, as McTominay was on the end of Politano’s cross into the box, powering a header past Haikin for his second of the night. In the 88th minute, Napoli scored a fourth to seal the match, as Giovane’s cross deflected off Bjortuft into the back of the Bodo net. Bodo did get themselves a third goal, when deep in added time, Fet headed in from a yard out. The visitors ended the match with a higher xG, accumulating 2.66 across the 90 minutes (Napoli with 1.52 xG). Napoli leapfrog their opponents and now sit in 22nd place, whilst Bodo drop to 26th. Next up for the Italian side is a match against Porto away, whilst Bodo welcome Lille to the Arctic Circle. Thank you everyone for tuning in and have a fantastic evening!
