Commentary
It's all over, and England are into the World Cup semi-finals with a 2–1 win over Norway after extra time!!! Pushed all the way by a Norwegian side playing in their first World Cup this century, England were holding out for a hero and found one in the form of Jude Bellingham, whose two goals lifted the Lions up off the canvas and turned the tide in Miami. Level 1–1 at half-time and after 90 minutes following that opportunistic opener from Schjelderup and Bellingham's bullish equaliser, both teams threw all their might forward; Norway producing 0.77 xG to England's 0.96 xG as plenty of controversy ensued. Heggem had that early second-half goal chalked off for a foul by Haaland in the build-up, while England's hopes of a game-sealing penalty were also dashed by VAR. Those incidents came either side of the game-defining one, however, when Bellingham pounced on Nyland's error to prod home the rebound from Rogers' long-range shot, just three minutes into the extra-time period. Despite Spence's potential penalty being ruled out in the aftermath, England managed to cling on just as they did at the Azteca, and advance at Norway's expense to reach only their fourth ever World Cup semi-final. Switzerland or defending champions Argentina will await in the next round, and as Norway return home having lit up the 2026 tournament, England are well on their way to ending 60 long, long years of hurt.
FULL-TIME AFTER EXTRA TIME: NORWAY 1–2 ENGLAND.
Eze turns into space on the halfway line to launch one last forward rush for England, but a heavy touch allows Norway to recover possession and send one last late surge into the final third...
We've hit the two-hour mark on the clock, but we're set to go even further beyond that with two additional minutes in the dying embers of this enthralling quarter-final.
England don't get the free-kick and instead resume the game with a drop-ball, giving Norway another chance to pile numbers forward for one last potential attack.

Pickford climbs high to get a glove to an in-swinging Norway free-kick, but is clattered by Rogers and goes down in the box. A free-kick is initially blown for England despite the collision being a case of friendly fire, and Ajer's protests at the decision earn him a late yellow card.
