Galatasaray v Barcelona
Barcelona storm back to beat Gala as perfect season rolls on
Anthony Gordon scored his first Champions League goal for Barcelona as they came from behind to beat Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul to maintain a perfect 10-for-10 start to the season.
Despite easing to a comfortable victory in the end, Hansi Flick's side had looked in serious trouble in Turkey when, having fallen behind to a first-half goal from Aleksey Batrakov, the home side had a second disallowed before the break following a protracted VAR check.
That stirred Barca into life. On the stroke of halftime, Lamine Yamal lost possession and the ball broke to João Cancelo who levelled.
The second half was a canter. Fermín López put the visitors into the lead five minutes after the re-start before Gordon continued his fine start to life in Catalonia to open his European account on his first Champions League start and finally give Barca breathing room.
Karim Adeyemi smashed across goal and into the bottom corner to end the game as a contest in the 65th minute.
The win put the visitors top of the league-phase table with a perfect record and nine goals scored in their two matches. Flick's rampant side has not lost all season, having won all eight of its games in Spain's top flight as well.
