Western Sydney Wanderers snatch late win over Newcastle Jets

Western Sydney Wanderers produced a dramatic late comeback to deny Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium.

The Jets appeared set to move top of the A-League when Enver Alivodic opened the scoring on 73 minutes amid suspicions of offside following a Ki-Je Lee free kick.

However, the lead did not last long.

Andreu Mayoral levelled on 79 minutes from the penalty spot after a Milos Trifunovic foul, and the Wanderers snatched the lead through Mitch Nichols' long-range effort.

The Jets, who could have taken top spot after Sydney FC's 0-0 draw with Brisbane Roar, remain third in the table.
