DR Congo beat Guinea to reach final of African Nations Championship

DR Congo reached the final of the African Nations Championship after beating Guinea on penalties in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The game was goalless after 90 minutes, forcing it into extra-time.

DR Congo took the lead three minutes before the interval through Jonathan Bolingi.

And it looked as though there would be no way back for Guinea, only for Ibrahima Sory Sankhon to force penalty kicks with a goal in the 121st minute.

But there would be no fairytale for Guinea as Ley Matampi saved from Mohamed Youla to secure a 5-4 spot-kick win.

Mali and Ivory Coast meet in the second semifinal on Thursday.
