Cal Baptist routs D-III La Verne 97-46
RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Milan Acquaah had 29 points and a career-high 11 rebounds to help California Baptist rout Division III La Verne 97-46 on Saturday night.
The Lancers 51-point margin of victory is a program best, surpassing a 41-point win over Hawaii Hilo on Jan. 30, 2017. Cal Baptist (8-5) has won four straight and opens Western Athletic Conference play hosting New Mexico State on Thursday.
Acquaah, a sophomore transfer from Washington State, scored 18 first-half points and has finished with 20 or more points in 10 games this season. He was one point shy of a career best, shooting 11 of 18 from the field with four assists and two steals. Ty Rowell added 22 points for Cal Baptist. The duo made 11 of the Lancers' 12 3-pointers.
Jeremy Smith added 14 points and Jordan Heading 10 for the Lancers, who have won 10 straight against La Verne but the first since Jan. 8, 1993.
