Tigers' Skubal shows rust in return from elbow surgery
Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, making his first start since April 29, showed some rust while pitching 4 2/3 innings in a 3-1 loss to the Guardians but said, "I need to be better, plain and simple."
Bogaerts hit by pitch, exits; then Orioles' Henderson hit
Padres infielder Xander Bogaerts left the game for precautionary reasons after he was hit in the head by a pitch. Up big in the ninth, Padres reliever Ron Marinaccio then hit Orioles star Gunnar Henderson with a pitch, leading to an ejection.

Cleveland Guardians veteran third baseman Jose Ramirez, 33, a seven-time American League All-Star, broke a bone in his left hand on a swing Saturday during his team's 3-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers and will be sidelined an indefinite period.
