It is finally happening, friends. Mariusz Pudzianowski and Senegalese wrestling champion Bombardier have been rebooked for KSW 64 on Oct. 23 in Lodz, Poland, promotion officials told ESPN. The two behemoths were supposed to fight in March, but Bombardier withdrew on fight day due to appendicitis. Bombardier, real name Serigne Ousmane Diaz, is 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds. He is 2-0 in MMA. Pudzianowski, a five-time world's strongest man, is 15-7 in MMA. He is 6-foot-1 and cuts to 265 pounds.
Xiong Jing Nan beats Michelle Nicolini via unanimous decision to retain the ONE Championship women’s 125-pound title in the main event of ONE’s all-women’s event Empower in Singapore. Xiong has been the ONE champ since 2018 and is 7-1 under the promotion’s banner, with the only loss coming at 115 pounds to Angela Lee. On the undercard, Seo Hee Ham, Itsuki Hirata, Ritu Phogat and Stamp Fairtex advanced to the ONE 115-pound grand prix semifinals.
Alistair Overeem will return to competition and fight Rico Verhoeven for the Glory Kickboxing heavyweight title Oct. 23, Overeem announced Monday on The MMA Hour. Overeem has not fought since a TKO loss to Alexander Volkov under the UFC banner in February. He was released by the UFC surprisingly in March while still being a top-10 caliber heavyweight in the world. Overeem is a former K-1 World Grand Prix champion, though he has not fought in kickboxing in 11 years.
