Rodtang Jitmuangnon tested positive for COVID-19 and is out of his kickboxing bout with Daniel Puertas scheduled for Oct. 15 at ONE: First Strike, sources told ESPN. It would have been Rodtang’s second kickboxing match with the ONE Muay Thai title on the line. Rodtang, who is vaccinated, is currently in for his mixed-rules bout with Demetrious Johnson on Dec. 5 and sources are hopeful he will be cleared in time for that. The news is expected to be announced this weekend at ONE: Revolution.
A couple of UFC 266 notes. Karl Roberson is out of a scheduled fight with Nick Maximov due to weight-cutting issues. Cody Brundage, who was actually supposed to fight on Contender Series on Oct. 5, will now step in on super short notice and fight Maximov. MMA DNA was first to report the news. Also, a scheduled bout between Mayra Bueno Silva and Manon Fiorot has been postponed to Oct. 16 due to COVID protocols. Brazil's Combate was the first to report that one.
It is finally happening, friends. Mariusz Pudzianowski and Senegalese wrestling champion Bombardier have been rebooked for KSW 64 on Oct. 23 in Lodz, Poland, promotion officials told ESPN.
