UCLA Bruins @ Arizona Wildcats
No. 15 UCLA women beat Arizona for third straight win
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Jordin Canada and Nicole Kornet scored 21 points apiece and No. 15 UCLA defeated Arizona 79-56 on Friday night to sweep the season series.
UCLA (21-7, 12-5) has won three straight, and is locked into the fourth seed in the upcoming Pac-12 Conference Tournament. The Bruins close out the regular Sunday on the road against Arizona State.
Kornet and Monique Billings grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Billings finished with 12 points.
LaBrittney Jones led all scorers with 26 points for Arizona (13-15, 4-13), which was held to just 37.3 percent shooting from the field, and 3 of 10 from 3-point range. Dejza James added 11 points.
The second quarter proved the most decisive. After leading 17-14 after one, Kelli Hayes opened the second with a steal and a layup to spark a 14-4 UCLA run and a 31-18 lead. A Billings jumper to close out the third made it 55-38, and UCLA cruised to the finish.
