Albany shuts down New Hampshire 15-0
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Will Brunson connected on a 54-yard touchdown pass with Austin Ellis for the game's only touchdown, and Albany upset FCS-ranked New Hampshire 15-0 on Saturday in a regular-season finale.
The Great Danes (4-7, 2-6 Colonial Athletic Association) came into the game having lost six straight but held the Wildcats to 122 total yards. UNH quarterback Trevor Knight, who entered 282 yards shy of 3,000 yards passing and 23 touchdowns, threw for just 133 yards on an 18-of-31 effort.
Albany's defense, ranked No. 11 nationally, has held the opposition to 15 points or less six times this year, and were top-ranked in fumble recoveries. They recovered two more against UNH (7-6, 5-3) for 16 this season.
Ethan Stark kicked two field goals and a high snap over the UNH punter out of the end zone gave Albany two more points in the third. The touchdown pass came on the ensuing possession.
