Aleena Garcia hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a wild comeback, as UCLA outlasted host California Baptist 12-11 on Friday in the NCAA softball Los Angeles Regional at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins overcame a 10-run fifth inning by the Lancers to secure a dramatic postseason victory.

Jordan Woolery powered the offense for UCLA (48-8), going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Soo-Jin Berry finished 3-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. Garcia drove in a team-high four runs on a home run and the winning sacrifice fly, while Jolyna Lamar tied the score in the seventh with a two-run homer. The Bruins tallied 12 hits, including four home runs.

California Baptist (43-18) was led by Victoria Macias, who went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Ashlee Annett added a three-run double, and Sydney Peterson contributed a solo home run. The Lancers scored all but one of their runs in a massive fifth inning.

UCLA jumped to a 2-0 in the first on Woolery's two-run homer. The Bruins extended their advantage to 7-1 in the third inning after a three-run blast from Garcia and a two-run shot from Berry. The game turned completely in the top of the fifth when California Baptist erupted for 10 runs to take a stunning 11-7 lead. The rally included Annett's bases-clearing double, Macias' second home run of the game and a solo homer from Peterson.

The Bruins began their rally with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the deficit to 11-9. In the seventh, after a leadoff single, Lamar launched a two-run homer to right field to tie the score at 11. UCLA loaded the bases with a single and two walks, setting the stage for Garcia's sacrifice fly to right field that scored Rylee Slimp for the winning run.

Neither starting pitcher was effective. UCLA's Taylor Tinsley allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on six hits in 4⅓ innings. For California Baptist, Miranda De Nava gave up seven runs (five earned) on five hits over three innings, and reliever Emily Darwin surrendered five earned runs in 3⅔ innings of work.

UCLA slugger Megan Grant, who holds the Division I single-season home run record with 38 long balls, went 0-for-1 with four walks.
