Queen's Park maintained their chase for automatic promotion after edging out Morton 2-1 at Links Park.Forward John Carter put the visitors in front after 25 minutes with a delightful finish past goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie.They extended their lead 12 minutes later after midfielder Darren Miller's corner was headed in by Paul Woods at the back post.McKenzie then pulled off a brilliant finger-tip save from Ciaran McElroy's shot to deny Queen's Park a third on the stroke of half-time.The hosts pulled one back after 64 minutes when Garry Wood smashed home a penalty after Bryan Wharton had fouled Leighton McIntosh inside the area.Terry Masson came close to an equaliser late on but his effort rebounded off the post as Queen's Park move within three points of league leaders Arbroath.
