Brighton v Man City
WSL leaders Man City beaten by Brighton
Madison Haley struck twice as Brighton checked Manchester City's Women's Super League title charge with a shock 3-2 win at Broadfield Stadium.
City were dominant after taking an early through Kerolin, but against the run of play American forward Haley levelled it up in first-half stoppage time.
Kiko Seike fired Brighton into the lead soon after the restart before Haley struck her second and although Khadija Shaw pulled one back late on to set up a grandstand finish, City slipped to their third league defeat of the season.
Andree Jeglertz's side were hoping to close in on their first WSL title since 2016, but five points are still required from their final two games as third-placed Arsenal have three matches in hand.
Brighton knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup earlier this month, but came under early pressure and City took a fifth-minute lead when Brazil forward Kerolin sent a looping shot over Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
City's leading WSL goalscorer Shaw's low shot struck the base of a post and she dragged another shot wide as City dominated.
But having mustered only one shot on target, Brighton equalised in added time at the end of the first half.
Charlie Rule picked out Fran Kirby in the box and the latter laid it off for Haley to slam her finish into the bottom corner.
Brighton stunned City within two minutes of the restart as Japan forward Seike cut into the box before lashing a shot into the roof of the net.
Haley was denied in a one-on-one with Ayaka Yamashita before heading in the Seagulls' third after her initial shot had rebounded to her.
Shaw threw City a lifeline with four minutes left as she held off two defenders to fire home a low finish inside the far post, but Brighton held on.
