Sergio Perez is confident his deal to remain at Force India next year will be announced in the next two weeks ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.
The 2016 grid is starting to fall into place, with Ferrari, Mercedes, Williams and Sauber all making official announcements that they will retain their line-ups for next season, while Red Bull has said as much through the media. Nico Hulkenberg signed a new two-year deal to stay at Force India this week and Perez, who already has a contract for 2016, says his confirmation is close to being finalised.
"For me, I think the news is coming quite soon," Perez said. "I have a contract with the team and as you know I have a group of sponsors and we are trying to make an announcement all together, so it's all clear.
"My priority is to stay here. [A long-term deal] is something we are definitely discussing as well. The team is going upwards, really pushing and I know the plans of the team. I would be really happy to stay here."
Asked when the announcement would come, Perez said: "I think quite soon, we are getting to the point that very soon things should be announced. I expect to announce my plans fully before the next race."
And he confirmed he had not had talks with any other teams: "No, I have a contract here."
