Who's the youngest golfer to win the Masters? asked James Atkinson

This is a distinguished list, headed by Tiger Woods, who was 21 years three months old when he won at Augusta for the first time, in 1997.

Woods broke the record set by Severiano Ballesteros, who was four days past his 23rd birthday when he won the Masters for the first time, in 1980.

And Seve displaced Jack Nicklaus, who was a couple of months older when he won the first of his record six green jackets in 1963. Nicklaus remains the oldest winner, at 46 in 1986.

The youngest golfer to take part in the Masters was the Chinese amateur Guan Tianlang, who was only 14 in 2013. He became the youngest ever to make the cut in a golf major.
