Nick Roach out with concussion

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Oakland Raiders will be without one of their key defenders Sunday against the New York Jets as middle linebacker Nick Roach is inactive because he has not been cleared from an Aug. 22 concussion.

Roach played every defensive snap for Oakland last year.

He will be replaced by Miles Burris in the starting lineup. Kaluka Maiava is expected to play as well. Along with missing Roach's leadership in the middle, this loss severely hurts the Raiders' depth at the position.

They have just four healthy active linebackers on a day that will be played in humid conditions. The Raiders have just five linebackers altogether on the 53-man roster.

Roach practiced during the week on a limited basis. He suffered the concussion at Green Bay 16 days ago.
