The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is partnering with certain expert groups on its crackdown on alleged game fixing happening inside the regional amateur basketball league.
No less than the founder and chief executive officer Sen. Manny Pacquiao led the fight against these anomalous acts.
"I want to take care of the MPBL. You can't fool the people. The games have to be competitive, without any 'hocus-pocus.' I don't want anyone fooling the Filipino people and I am warning everyone, (if you involve yourself in game-fixing), you might just disappear (from the league)," said Pacquiao.
There were unconfirmed reports that reached the MPBL Commissioner's Office on allegations on game fixing.
Pacquiao said a reward awaits people who can show proof on game fixing or odds game that affects the outcome of the game.
"We have groups who are experts that will monitor players, and outsiders entering the league. Let's monitor them. Let's help each other. If you know of any information, let me know, I will take care of it," he said.
