The rain had been coming down steadily for the last few minutes. The Umpires have seen enough and they are taking the players off. Shame. Hope that we won't be off for long, although we are losing overs here. One goes every four minutes or so.
Match State: Delay - Delayed due to rain
2:40pm Well there isn't much change to conditions here. The rain if anything has started to get a lot heavier here. The Umpires are out in the middle although at the minute there would be no chance of play.
Looks like we are going to have an early lunch here.
3:45pm Its still raining here, the Umpires have been out in the middle and have been looking under the covers. There is going to be another inspection at 4.00pm. Although if its still raining then you have to feel the game is going to be in danger of being called off.
4:00pm The Umpires have been out to the middle with the Captain's and its been called off. The rain is still falling from the skies and there is no chance of getting the ground fit for play in the time that is available. With that both teams receive 2 points to get off the mark in the IP50. Sorry that we couldn't get anymore play from today. Although please join us again tomorrow when we will be at Eglinton cricket ground for coverage of the first ever Domestic first class match here in Ireland. Until then, this is Justin Smyth saying goodbye from Strabane.
