Tilak collects the trophy from Sri Lanka's Chair of Selectors. The team heads to the Champions tag as the sun sets, presenting a beautiful view from above. The support staff joins later. Sooryavanshi steps up in a final again after helping win the Under-19 team the World Cup. Lots more to come you'd think. For now, it's goodbye from me, Ekanth, Shashank Kishore, our scorer Sanjaya Jayasinghe, and everyone here from the Cricinfo team.
Tilak Varma, India A captain: Everyone showed real character. Especially after we lost back-to-back games. Then we won with big margins which was tremendous. Everyone has played domestic cricket and has experience. Just a matter of planning before the game. We start big, consolidate and accelerate. Slightly disappointed with the bowling but it happens in one-off series. We have a good side.
Sahan Arachchige, Sri Lanka A captain: Sooryavanshi played a brilliant innings. We managed the innings nicely thereon but let it slide in the last two overs. When we are chasing a big score, top order can fall cheaply. It happens. Young guys have played well, seniors have scored too. It's been a good tournament.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, POTM: I hadn't thought of anything. Just wanted to execute what I planned in the first ten and take it forward from there. No pressure. I wasn't executing what I wanted. But after consulting with the coaches, he got it right. Learnt a lot this series, but I've played a lot of 50-over cricket. Not sure people know about it. The challenge was to adapt to different conditions, it was nice to take it on.
Swaroop: "Sri Lanka would be ruing dropping Roy in the 49th over and subsequently conceding 39 runs in the last two overs.Take away that and they pretty much had this game. I hope Roy gets the MoM award and not Sooryavanshi because that and his 2 wickets and a catch was probably the difference in the game " Still think Sooryavanshi's innings had an outsized impact. He helped get 132 runs in nine overs... That was at least 70 too many
Agastya: "Motm Roy or VS ?" Celine asks the same. Has to be Vaibhav
6:04pm: India A are content as Tilak leads them back off the field. The win was set up in the morning, by Sooryavanshi. The early attack was common in both innings. Yash Thakur took out SL A's top three in the first ten. The middle-overs fightback from the visitors was c
ommon too. Samarawickrama made a fifty. The wickets came against the run of play. Tilak getting Arachchige was crucial. Viyaskanth and Wanuja added 77. Seven batters from No. 3 made 19 or more. It stretched the innings close to the finish but couldn't take the hosts close.
