Player of the Match

That concludes all the action from us tonight, folks. Thank you for tuning in and staying with us over the past few hours! Do join us again tomorrow for the doubleheader fixture of the ILT20. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub, signing off from the comms, along with our scorer Binoy George. Goodbye and go well!

Player of the Match, Pathum Nissanka: "I like this venue because most of the time I score runs here. That's why I like it here. [On His Form] Nothing special. I just try to do my best and believe in myself. Yes, it is always very good to play against Dasun Shanaka."

Moeen Ali: "The fact that we got the points, and we feel like we can still play better. I thought we actually bowled really well. Dawson and I squeezed them a little bit in the middle. We're happy we got the points, and we know we can still play better. [Pathum Nissanka] He's amazing. He's a dynamite; he's a brilliant player. I believe he's one of the best players in the world in all formats. He's very hard to bowl at. He plays amazing shots, and he takes it one down. He's confident, he's strong, and he quietly goes about his business. [Vince] He's a quality player, and today, he just did a great job. You don't always have to look good. Even when we went out, we said, 'Look, you stay there. Just knock it around. You're doing a great job for the team.' We need someone like that sometimes in T20 cricket on sticky wickets, and he played the situation really well."

Dasun Shanaka: "[Nissanka] He's in the form of his life. At the moment, bowling anything at his him means going for six. He's amazing because he is so small, and yet he hits the ball so far. He's going to give trouble to a lot of teams in this tournament. He worked hard over the recent past to make sure he's coming up with the level he needs to maintain at the international level. I have seen him growing from a very young age, so I'm really happy for him. [Batting] We could have shown a little more intent with the bat in that middle period. We didn't try to find the gaps; rather than waiting to hit the long ball, we needed to rotate the strike. Rovman Powell and I probably could have gone a bit earlier, and we might get this right in the next game."

Saju: "The Fizz is the best performer for DC by far tonight. Keep up good work the cutter master. Proud of you."

DaWolf : "160 was below par. Good chase. And a nice net run rate boost."

9:55 pm The Gulf Giants landed their second win of the campaign with a well-structured run chase. With today's victory, the Gulf Giants surge up the table, boosted by a significantly healthy Net Run Rate. They lost opener Gurbaz early, but Nissanka and Vince quickly turned things around. The momentum swung massively when Nissanka smashed 22 runs off Neesham's over. Later on, Vince also survived a dropped catch by Willey. Nissanka's storm continued until the 12th over, when Mustafizur finally dismissed him for a blistering 67 runs off 31 balls. Shanaka struck twice with the ball, bagging the wickets of Moeen Ali and the dangerous Omarzai, but the pressure they created was undone when Moores smashed two boundaries off Salamkheil's 17th over. In the end, Vince remained unbeaten on 50 runs and ensured a smooth, drama-free victory. The Capitals' sloppy fielding was a factor, and Fizz and Shanaka both picked up two wickets each. Post Match Presentation coming up.

Muhammad Jawadullah to Adair, 1 wide, Ah, no more cracking stroke finish in the end tonight. Jawadullah bowls a pace on bouncer ball, extracts a bit too much off the pitch, and Adair attempts to slice it over like Erasmus, fails to connect, and the square leg umpire signals wide. The Gulf Giants continue their winning streak, making it two wins out of two games! And for the Dubai Capitals, the frustrating wait for their maiden victory continues.

Muhammad Jawadullah to Erasmus, OUT, Slices it straight to Fizz! Add more spice to the drama. Shortish ball angling away outside off, Erasmus gets on top of the bounce and plays the upper cut towards the deep third fielder. Fizz didn't have to move an inch there, gobbled it up near the ropes and made no reaction, as usual.
