8.35pm Right then, that's a wrap from Afghanistan's tour of India. India won the Test, and all three ODIs, despite a few performances of note from the visitors, including the centuries in the ODIs by Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Hashmatullah Shahidi. India wanted to use the ODI series to test their depth, and they did so brilliantly with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan -- who are both not part of India's first choice XI in the format -- notching centuries, and their new crop of bowlers -- Gurnoor Brar, Prince Yadav and Harsh Dubey -- all impressing in their opportunities. Of course, some of the more established members of the team also did well, with Shubman Gill finishing as POTS and Prasidh Krishna continuing to be a dangerous wicket-taker. All in all, the series would make India feel only better about the World Cup next year. Anyway, that's all from us from this game. On behalf of Ranjith, Chandan and Ekanth, it's Abhimanyu signing off. Goodnight folks.
Shubman Gill, who is also the Player of the Series: "The first spell bowled by Gurnoor and Prasidh was outstanding to see. That kind of pace in that weather, you don't always see but they were amazing. I did want to give them an extra over, but they were pretty exhausted. A lot of the boxes were ticked in this series. We spoke about keeping the intensity in the middle overs and one thing we spoke about how we can keep making opportunities with the ball in the middle overs and how as batters we can push for extra runs. Going to England the conditions will be a little closer to what we will get in South Africa. So the kind of combination we will want to play there, we hope to have everyone fit. Should be a good contest."
POTM, Prasidh Krishna: "Ice baths only thing remaining now, but body feels good. Good to see the way the batsmen batted. Really happy for the team. I think it's just that trying to hit the lengths as a team, whatever we discuss, whatever the tactic is. We just sit and think about the game and what's needed, and it's like homework for me. It's really helpful when you have really good bowlers alongside. You learn from each other when you have good competition in the nets. You push each other to do better. I did get that thought (bowling an extra over when he got his fourth wicket) for a bit but told myself that there is a long way to go. But four wickets or five wickets, if the team is doing well I am happy with that."
Hashmatullah Shahidi: "I think today, in the first ten overs they bowled well but we lost wickets that put us under pressure. And me and Azmat had a good partnerships but again we lost back to back wickets and that's why we fell short. After long time I scored my first 100. I feel good and Inshallah I will try my best to do it again and again for my country. It was so hot and I was cramping. But I am feeling good now. I think we have talented guys, but playing India in India is tough. We were not good. But we will learn from that. Moving forward, I think we are a quality side but we have been away from ODI cricket. Last we played Bangladesh eight months ago. We play Ireland next. We'll work on where we were lacking."
8.20pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
As we wait for the presentation ceremony, here's another stat from Sampath: Yashasvi Jaiswal, first batter to score two hundreds for India in his first six men's ODI innings. Shikhar Dhawan had two in his first seven innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal: "I really enjoyed. I got some runs initially in the powerplay and I tried to keep going and played to the end. I just focus on my process, what is in my control and try to work hard as much as I can. The support has been amazing to me, the communication is unreal. I think I've been lucky so if I get the start I try to convert. As I have seen in cricket specially, when it's your day make it count. So I try to do that. I was very determined today that I need to keep my focus and rotate the strike so if I get in, I make it count. [On the partnership with Rohit] Of course Rohit bhaiya is always helpful. I always ask him questions to get help and implement in the game. Today when I was facing dot balls, he was telling me to just rotate the strike and keep the intent. I always enjoy being with him, and playing with him. Everything is just amazing."
avikrams: "I will give jointly PoTM to Prasidh and Jaiswal, what you say?" -- Jaiswal played a blinder, but it was a century in a chase that was always going to be completed. Prasidh Krishna was the one who basically sealed the win for India within the first ten overs of this 100-over contest. So, I think it has to be Prasidh Krishna!
ShaileshR: "Gill should be the only opener finalised for WC'27. Rohit is a legend but Jaiswal and Kishan are playing too well to be side-lined. Could be we take all 4 to SA next year and rotate." --
V. Kalyani : "Oh Jaiswal! What a stylish way to bounce back to form....silencing the critics with a 100..."
7.55pm Prasidh Krishna's stunning display with the new ball and his first ODI five-for set up the win and Yashasvi Jaiswal's stunning century sealed it. There were other good performances as well for the hosts, not least of which was Rohit Sharma's 79, but it completes a series win where India have been dominant, despite not being full-strength. Hashmatullah Shahidi's first ODI century only helped Afghanistan get to a respectable total, but this was never a target that was going to trouble India's explosive batting lineup.
