10:20pm A very early finish tonight, on the heels of a marathon game yesterday. Sums up T20 cricket. Sums up how unpredictable the IPL can be. What will we have in store tomorrow as the table-topping Punjab Kings take on the Rajasthan Royals? Well, join us then to find out. Until tomorrow, from all of us here at ESPNcricinfo, it is goodbye!

Josh Hazlewood, Player of the Match: Probably turning up here after 500-plus runs in the last game, was not sure what was going to happen. Was just following his (Bhuvneshwar) lead. There was a bit there in the first six overs - enough there to work with, and it was skidding on quickly from a short of a length. Once the ball got soft, it got more even. (On the Rana dismissal) In general, you wanted the batter to hit it down the wicket and in the V. The short ball was nice as well, just about the accuracy. When that ball was nice and hard, it was tough to bat. Would have been nice to bowl four and get off the field (laughs). Our spinners got into the game, dotted it up nicely. We have picked up from where we left off last season. We summed up conditions quickly and adapted our games (on the road in 2025). Feel like we are hitting our straps again at the right time.

Rajat Patidar, RCB captain: Even I am surprised (at how the game went). All credit to the bowlers - Hazlewood and Bhuvi, the way they bowled in the powerplay. The good thing was we got early wickets and it kept us in the driving seat. (On bowling out both bowlers early) We had planned that if we get early wickets, they would bowl 3-3 each. Suyash got a lot of spin - the way he bowled stump to stump, it was pleasing to see. Very important to follow your routine. Still long way to go. We are taking it one game at a time. The positive was different players coming up and doing it for the team. You should have a good bowling attack (on flat pitches in T20 cricket) because only bowlers can win you championships.

Axar Patel, DC captain: I still cannot understand what happened. That is why they say you have to be on your toes at all times in cricket. Ifs and buts will be there - like if we had taken that catch or taken that run (against GT). That will keep happening. But each day, you have to be on your toes and keep doing what you have been doing well. You cannot take it easy for even one day. Rather than thinking about what has happened, think about what is to come. Even if you stay negative or positive, you still have to play. Tonight was a bad day. We have to be positive and do what we had been doing (earlier). (On the early movement on offer) I was not surprised. They (Bhuvneshwar and Hazlewood) are world-class bowlers. 1-2 overs, if our openers and number three had batted, it could have been a different game.

Devdutt Padikkal: It was great to see the way we bowled in the first six overs. Those guys (Bhuvneshwar and Hazlewood) are so good. The pressure on the batting side is immense, and it showed. I am expecting a catch every ball - when those two are bowling, every ball is an opportunity. (On his improvement as a slip fielder) It has a lot to do with time out there. When I started slip fielding, was not very good at it. As you do it more often, you get better at it. (On the chase) When you have a total like that, important you try to finish it off as quickly as possible.

9:57pm Well, that happened rather quickly. Bethell landed a few early blows. Padikkal then took over, with Kohli also helping himself to a couple of pristine maximums. RCB were never really hard-pressed in this chase and most of their work was done long away - inside their bowling powerplay.

An NRR bruising and morale bruising loss for the Capitals. They have now been chastened in two vastly different circumstances in their two most previous games, and they will now have to find a way to pick themselves up after it.

Natarajan to Kohli, SIX, the demolition job is complete, and Kohli wraps up a rout in thunderous style! Half-tracker and this sits up outside off. Kohli spots it early, gets into position and wallops it over deep mid wicket. Hugs and handshakes in the RCB camp. They have been full value for this win. The Capitals, a little more downcast because they now they have been blitzed out of the water tonight!
