11:22pm And that will be all from us. We will be back at it tomorrow with more IPL action. Until then, from all of us here at ESPNcricinfo, it is goodbye!

Donovan Ferreira, Player of the Match: It was a good innings - keeping my mind nice and clear, like when I was a kid playing with a toy truck. We need to keep showing intent and not be predictable. So, let's be calculative and play our shots. Important to take it ball by ball. Kept reminding myself it was only 11s and 12s. Luckily for me, Shubham took the pressure off me. It is a long tournament. We keep reminding ourselves that different guys need to put their hands up. Really pleased I am hitting the ball well. Important for us to win the match for the team.

Riyan Parag, RR captain: As a team, what we have discussed, we achieved in this game. We could have restricted them to a lower score but the batters picked up the slack. Feel we could have bowled a few overs better here and there, and batted better. You are never going to get 40 overs (of perfect cricket) but our preparation has to be to play 40 overs of good cricket. (On the middle order standing up tonight) Concerns were from everyone else. It was their concerns, not our concerns. When middle order does not fire, the top three has to pick it up. When they fail to fire (or play at a slower rate), we have to pick it up. All the worries were from the outside, not from us. Plan was to keep wickets in hand and not fall behind the run-rate, they (Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi) made our jobs easier for us. After the powerplay, we got behind a little bit but picked it up again. (On Dubey) Him and Don - the way they played, they took it away from Punjab. Felt they would bowl a few more slower balls but the way they batted, it is commendable.

Shreyas Iyer, PBKS captain: (Where it went wrong) 224 was a brilliant score - kudos to the batters. It was an exceptional performance on this pitch, which was tacky and slow. We fell short in our execution (with the ball). They had a tremendous partnership in the middle - Ferreira and Dubey scoring those crucial runs in the end. This is the format where a lot of players have changed their game and they go from ball one. At the end of the day, I feel it is about execution. Tonight just was not our day. It is important that we stick to the things we have been doing and have been following throughout. The body was also a bit fatigued but that cannot be the reason here. We have a couple of days to go back to the drawing board and come back (stronger). This is our first loss, it definitely teaches you a lot. We have played games where we have chased and defended 200-plus. One of those days where it did not go our way. Want to be positive and optimistic. (On their spinners) I felt it was difficult to score off the spinners. It was holding and offering a bit of turn. Brar, coming into his first game, showing that sort of personality, hats off to him.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: (On batting with Sooryavanshi) He is playing amazing, always happy seeing from the other end. (On how it feels becoming the older partner) I don't think so I am older - I am still very young (laughs). Don't know what to say about it. We knew it is a high-scoring ground. So we had to go whenever we feel like. If it was in my range, wanted to hit it. Everyone trusts each other. Everyone is not going to perform on the same day. We have a very good team, so we are practicing hard, and we are enjoying a lot. We are just excited for all the games.

10:56pm Some run-chase this. And it was, unsurprisingly, set up by RR's openers. Sooryavanshi blazed away at the start, with Jaiswal joining in on the fun soon after. There was a brief wobble post it but Parag and Dubey played the requisite cameos, with Ferreira dominating the back half and ensuring that there were no hiccups.

PBKS will be disappointed with their bowling effort. They bowled too many boundary balls and were made to pay. Their spinners held their own, and that might give them confidence and belief. But this is a night they will want to put behind quickly, and bounce back from.

Jansen to Ferreira, SIX, Ferreira with a fitting finish, and the streak is over! A tremendous knock under pressure, and the Punjab Kings have been subjected to their first loss of the season! Full toss on the stumps and that sums up how PBKS' night has gone. A little too easy for Ferrreira and he accepts that gift with glee, clubbing it over mid on and sealing the deal. A fist bump or two from the South African. RR's middle order, under fire for most of this tournament, has come to the party, and they decided to turn up against the table-toppers!

Just two needed now. And we might actually get a full 40-over IPL game finishing before 11pm. Unprecedented. Jansen to bowl
